Village Sign

After much debate, a proposed design for the village sign has been developed by the village sign committee.

Following the publication of the parish plan in 2005 a committee of volunteers was setup to organise the design and erection of a sign for the village as highlighted by the village in the parish plan (action point 15).

While funding is still being sought for the sign, a design has been developed by the committee after much debate. The design incorporates many elements key to the village, such as the parish church, together with the traditional farming background and rural nature of the village.

While the village has a long history, the village sign also tries to incorporate a modern feel, looking forward to the future, whilst recognising its heritage.

The sign is proposed to be erected on the green in front of Lodes Cottage at the junction of Bridge Street and Manor Street.

An artist's impression of the sign is shown above.
