Can banks are being withdrawn by Huntingdonshire District Council throughout the region and will be removed during the coming weeks.
Can recycling at the mini recycling centres has been progressively reducing and the amount now collected is so small that it does not justify the cost of collection.
No income is presently being generated, nor recycling credits paid for this very small amount of material.
As a result can banks are being withdrawn by HDC across the district and will be removed during the coming weeks and months.
The bins will be reused for other collections, or converted for other materials and left at the site.
