Not Ritchie (The Hamster) Hammond, but Wistow's own Ritchie (The Gerbil) Farrar
Not content to be out-done by TV's top gear presenter Ritchie (The Hamster) Hammond in his recent jet powered land-speed attempt, Wistow's own Ritchie (The Gerbil) Farrar is planning to attempt the Wistow land-speed record on Mill Road this Autumn.
Careful preparations and skilful adjustments to a race-prepared chariot, featuring Carlos Fandango Super-Wide wheels and Kryptonite batteries, have enabled this fiendish speed machine to achieve a blistering 300mm/s (downhill, with a following wind) in recent trials.
We all wish the very best to Richard and his amazing team for their courageous attempt at this challenging record. At no time during this daring record attempt were any cute furry animals injured or subject to any undue stress.
