Trouble for Torquil
Torquil lands himself in a spot of bother with locals
Our resident gossip columnist, Tourquil Sprunt, has landed himself in a spot of bother recently with one of his articles for The Village Idiot; the Wistow village website's light-hearted and often irreverent look at village life.
Apparently the article offended the sensibilities of some folk in the village who made a formal complaint to the Parish Council.
Torquil wishes to apologise for any offence caused by the article and has since amended the article's accompanying photograph with the addition of a few strategically placed fig leaves preserving the modesty of the anonymous gentleman in question.
Torquil is attempting to write humorous articles about village life and its inhabitants to help provide fresh and interesting content for our rather unique website. As humour is very much a personal thing, this, by its very nature, may not always be to everybody's taste.
However, rest assured that Torquil has no intention of causing offence in his pursuit of humorous articles for our website, and will attempt to steer the fine line between taste and decency and humour in future.
On a more positive note, at least we know that people are looking at the website!
